The European Central Bank (ECB) is likely to extend emergency support for the euro area banking industry into next year, The Financial Times reported, without saying where it obtained the information. ECB President J-C Trichet will probably announce on 2 September that demands from banks for one week, monthly and probably three-monthly liquidity will be met into 2011, the newspaper said.
