Swisscom
is further reducing its mobile termination charges: on 1 October 2010 they will fall from CHF 0.14 to CHF 0.08 per minute, and from the beginning of 2011 to CHF 0.07 per minute, which amounts to a reduction of 50% and brings them to the European level. Swisscom has also reached an agreement with fixed network providers VTX and Verizon and with mobile providers Sunrise and Orange. Link: Click Here

Swiss Prime Site AG increased rental income by 99.6% to CHF 211.4 million and EBIT by 84.4% to CHF 204.5 million. Profit attributable to shareholders rose by 53.8% to CHF 108.0 million. Over the year to date, the value of the property portfolio increased by CHF 4.2 billion to CHF 8.1 billion. The impressive growth rates are mostly a result of the acquisition of Jelmoli Group. Cicor wins EUR 2 million order for complex substrates in advanced radar systems. Cicor Group’s Microelectronics Division has signed a two year agreement worth EUR 2 million for a substantial quantity of Thin Film Multi Layer Aluminium Nitride Substrates with multi layer metallization and hermetic vias. These substrates are used in SELEX Galileo-designed Transmit Receive Modules (TRMs) within Electronically Scanned Array (E-Scan) radar systems. Link: Click Here

UK: Robust manufacturing activity continues.
Output of consumer durable goods rose particularly strongly over the month. More broadly though, growth in consumer durables output has fallen back markedly from peaks late last year. That is partly related to the boost from the government's car scrappage scheme dropping away. After a sharp 9% drop in July, motor vehicle output is now down around 16% from its recent peak in March.
