Micronas Group's consolidated net sales (Automotive and Consumer) in the third quarter came to CHF 35.5 million, and in the first nine months of 2011 to CHF 115.2 million, compared with CHF 145.2 million in the first nine months of 2010. This decline is due mainly to the discontinuation of sales of Consumer products and dashboard controllers. Operating profit (EBIT) for the third quarter came to CHF 5.2 million, and for the nine-month period to CHF 13.5 million (first nine months 2010: CHF 17.4 million), which gives an EBIT margin of 11.7 percent of sales for the first nine months of 2011. Bossard: Noticeable slowdown of the economy. Bossard Group's sales development increasingly reflects the forecasts over the past few months of a general slowdown of growth as well as declining PMIs worldwide. So the authorities have seemingly realised the old EFSF plan doesn't work.
What about the new plan? There has been a lot of press coverage about the proposal to turn the existing EFSF (European Financial Stability Facility) into a monoline insurer of sovereign debt, where the new structure would be called the European Sovereign Insurance Mechanism (ESIM). G20 Summit conclusions: Europe continues to move towards a package to resist contagion given Greek uncertainties. The G20 Summit of finance ministers and central bank governors requested that by next Sunday's EU Summit, the eurozone "decisively address the current challenges through a comprehensive plan". While it is clear that eurozone governments are striving purposefully to achieve a grand solution by the 23 October Summit, Saturday's G20 meeting still illustrated that many key issues are yet to be fully defined. BofA: What we expect from the 23 October EU meeting. On Sunday 23rd October, EZ governments are expected to come up with "elements of a global and lasting package", which will respond to the Greek issue, maximize the European Financial Stability Fund (EFSF), and set a roadmap for strengthening banks' capital, as well as elements for the governance of the Euro zone.
