The rating agency A.M. Best has assigned Nationale Suisse a financial strength rating of "A-" (Excellent) with a stable outlook. This seal of quality allows the international Swiss insurance group to continue to drive forward its strategic core business in specialty lines.

By assigning an "A-" rating (Excellent), the rating agency A.M. Best is acknowledging the strong capitalisation and good financial performance of Swiss National Insurance Company Ltd, the parent company of the international insurance group Nationale Suisse. The rating also takes into account the business profile of Nationale Suisse, which is increasingly oriented towards specialty lines and selected target groups in the private and business client segment. This is the first time that an interactive rating process has certified Nationale Suisse as being in an excellent financial position to meet its ongoing and future insurance obligations.

Crucial success factor for specialty lines

The financial strength rating is a crucial factor for Nationale Suisse's success in continuing to grow profitably in the specialty lines business. Alongside differentiation by selected target client groups, the specialty lines are the insurance group's second strategic pillar. In the important growth area of engineering in particular, local and international markets increasingly require certification from a leading rating agency; it is similar for the specialty lines marine and art. "This first interactive rating from A.M. Best underlines once again the soundness of our business", says Hans Künzle, CEO of Nationale Suisse. "It is a clear confirmation of our sustainable strategy and financial strength and will reaffirm to our clients and brokers that we are a reliable partner."
