After 40 years as an entrepreneur, Dr. Reto E. Meier is handing control of the climate and manufacturing technology group Walter Meier to his son, CEO Silvan G.-R. Meier. Shortly before Christmas, Dr. Reto E. Meier handed over 100 percent of the shares in his family-owned holding company Greentec to his son, Silvan G.-R. Meier. This will have an indirect impact on Walter Meier because Greentec controls Walter Meier both in terms of voting rights and capital (approximately 75 percent of the voting rights and approximately 55 percent of the capital). At the same time, Dr. Reto E. Meier has given his daughter, Anja Egger-Meier, a present of 377,000 listed registered shares in Walter Meier, which means 8.75 percent of the voting rights and 19.6 percent of the capital of Walter Meier. Anja Egger-Meier intends to place a large portion of these shares on the market at an appropriate time, i.e. depending on the stock market environment and a good share valuation. At the annual shareholders’ meeting on March 14, 2012, Dr. Reto E. Meier will resign as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Walter Meier after 40 years as an entrepreneur. |
