Sandoz announced today that it has initiated two milestone Phase III clinical trials - one for biosimilar filgrastim (Amgen's Neupogen) in the US market, the other for its global pegfilgrastim development program (Amgen's Neulasta). The filgrastim study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Sandoz's biosimilar filgrastim versus Neupogen in breast cancer patients eligible for myelosuppressive chemotherapy treatment. Adval Tech Group: new basis for bank loans. The Adval Tech Group has renegotiated existing bank loans prior to their maturity date in January 2013 and placed them on a new basis with a view to reducing annual interest costs significantly. Link: Click Here

Oridion: FDA Import Alert Modification. Oridion Systems Ltd. (SIX: ORIDN), announced today that the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has advised the company that the import alert issued on all of Oridion’s medical devices has been significantly narrowed. Link: Click Here

Valora successfully completed its acquisition of K. Schmelzer- J. Bettenhausen GmbH & Co KG with effect from January 12, 2012. The transaction means that Valora has now become Austria’s leading railway station bookseller. Swiss Re's Board of Directors appoints Michel M. Liès, currently Chairman Global Partnerships at Swiss Re, as new Group Chief Executive Officer as of 1 February 2012. Michel M. Liès succeeds Stefan Lippe. The Board of Directors also announces that Moses Ojeisekhoba will join Swiss Re as CEO Reinsurance Asia and Regional President Asia, effective 15 March 2012.
