Zurich announced that based on preliminary estimates it expects the impact of the floods in Thailand, the increased cost of the earthquakes in New Zealand, and the further benefits of recoveries from its global aggregate catastrophe reinsurance cover in total, for the fourth quarter 2011, to range between USD 200 - 250 million. Oridion: Revenues of USD 64.5 million (19.0% growth over 2010). Oridion Systems Ltd. (SIX Swiss Exchange: ORIDN), the creator of the Integrated Pulmonary IndexTM, one of the Smart CapnographyTM family of decision-support solutions, today announced preliminary unaudited financial results for fiscal year 2011. Sales for Q3 FY 2012 were $715 million, down 5 percent from $754 million in Q3 FY 2011. Changes in exchange rates did not have an impact on sales compared to the prior year. Operating income was $70 million, down 8 percent from $76 million in the same quarter a year ago. Net income for Q3 FY 2012 was $55 million ($0.32 per share) compared to net income of $65 million ($0.36 per share) in Q3 of FY 2011. Link: Click Here

Roche (SIX: RO, ROG) announced that a phase III study (ML 18147) in metastatic colorectal cancer met its primary endpoint of overall survival. People who received Avastin® (bevacizumab) plus standard chemotherapy as initial treatment (so-called “first-line” treatment) for their metastatic colorectal cancer and then continued on Avastin with a different chemotherapy after their cancer progressed (so-called “second-line” treatment) lived significantly longer than people who received only chemotherapy in the second-line setting. Compagnie Financière Tradition SA reported consolidated revenue of CHF 1,069.2m for the year ended 31 December 2011 compared with CHF 1,210.4m for 2010, a decrease of 11.7% in current currencies but an increase of 0.3% in constant currencies due to the strength of the Swiss franc.
